    I like this blog – much info. On page 3 “Carriers Damaged – 1960”. I was aboard Intrepid on 25 Apr 1961 when we had the major steam casualty in No. 2 fire room. I worked in the Log Room (just above the fire room) and the steam was very intense on the 2nd deck. I have copies of the Deck Logs of 25 & 26 Apr 1961 and it lists 12 of us injured. I saved the life of a crew member in the Admin Office that evening. All of us suffered some sort of steam burns and steam inhalation. I received a Letter of Commendation from the CO for this. I stayed in the Navy retiring in Jun 75 as a CPO.
